Is this my first post in 2026?! Probably.

It always seems to me that I am starting off my articles apologizing for not putting out content in a timely fashion. I struggle with genuinely feeling like the minute details of my life are worth sharing for the whole world to see.. So why start a blog? Well... I needed a website for all the crazy to land on I suppose.

A place to talk about books and crafts and baking and all of the things that I loved when I didn't have anyone to ramble about them to... but I keep forgetting to take photos or videos of the things that I want to share, which makes for a very boring post. For example, I just fulfilled an order for twenty-one bracelets, 7 sets of 3, in the cutest black and orange colorway and any good business owner would have filmed a cute little "make/pack this order with me" video; but I didn't even think about it. I enjoy creating too much to remember to make content about the things I am excited to be making. All I have for photos is the mock ups of the design options that I sent before settling on a design and shipping them off today. Rest assured it was packaged cutely with a handwritten thank you card included.

As another example, I also made Cayenne and Turmeric Ginger shots today... I could have filmed that.... but it didn't even cross my mind. I could take a photo of them in the refrigerator for you - Insert photo here - But I have no video evidence for instagram or any other social media.

On a different note: we moved again. This time to Germany. Bavaria to be more specific. It is beautiful here and I am excited to get to travel and explore -good news for you all, I remember to take photos when I travel. Hopefully I will have plenty to share about all that.

We recently received our household goods and have been working on the tedious job of unpacking and trying to find a place for everything to live. A few German house things that I am still getting used to as an American include but are not limited to:

1. Everything is small here... the kitchen sink is small, the wardrobes, the dishwasher... you name it, its probably smaller here, the kitchen sink being my least favorite of all because it means there is always water on the floor, the counter, and me.. at least the water pressure is phenomenal! But we have about half the cupboards that we had when we lived in America so still figuring out where to store the trivets and spices

2. No storage - at least not in our house. There are large storage rooms in the basement, which is great for holiday decor and weird odds and ends that you don't want to see on a regular basis.. but I am talking about closets, no coat closet, no linen closet, no under the stairs closet storage.. there are wardrobes in every bedroom but no closets. And no bathroom storage, we don't have a single vanity in any of our bathrooms, both the toilet and the sink are just mounted on the wall.

3. Which brings me to number three and this one is probably the one that would throw any American for a loop - The poop shelf. In German toilets there is a shelf rather than just a bowl of water. There is very little water that sits in the toilet bowl. I have been made aware that it is so you can analyze your poo.. but in reality for those of us that don't need to inspect every turd it just means that you are scrubbing the toilet every single time you go #2. Irritating and tbh gross.

4. Plug ins: I knew that coming to Europe was going to mean different plugs, but the part that is hard is the Voltage difference. Its one thing to just have to find an adapter to use if your appliance or gadget can accommodate both voltages, but a whole other thing when you need a large box converter. We do have some 110V American style plug ins but we have more 220V Euro plug ins. They also always seem to be inconveniently located. Especially in our upstairs bedrooms where we have the steep roof slanted ceilings, and also the basement where each room only gets one plug in apparently. It does also remind you of how much we rely on electricity though. So many things to plug-in!

Aside from those things, which in the grand scheme of things 4 things is not that many, I am really enjoying it here so far. The people have all been so nice and even though there can sometimes be a language barrier most people speak enough English to make out what I am saying in my poor Deutsch, or they know English well enough that they prefer to speak that with me instead of painfully trying to make out what I am trying to say in their language. I am practicing though. I have only been here for a few months and already can work my way through an interaction even when the language barrier is more difficult.

As mentioned above I am hoping to have more to share soon. I am working on planning some trips and I know that in the next few weeks we will also be attending our first Munich Oktoberfest! As well as working on some crafting videos for YouTube for my girlies that I had to say farewell to in NY. So as always stay tuned! One day I'll get the hang of regularly scheduled content.
